Vintage Starlet - Long Lasting Matte Lipstick

This is the best long lasting lipstick I've ever had.

I ordered one of these and it sat on my table for several hours in the AC before I put it on for night shift at work. Right off, it snapped. I couldn’t even apply it. It broke at the base. Customer service is just ok. They responded in the chat they would get back to me during normal hours with a solution, and told me I need to let the lipstick rest after shipping. (I live in California and it’s June, so, yeah, I already know that.) They never did actually get back to me, they just sent a notice of shipment several days later. I will say that it kind of rubbed me the wrong way how they initially responded, not immediately offering a replacement and no follow up, just the email that is auto generated when a label is printed. It’s whatever; I did get a replacement. The replacement, the bullet is a little rough. It’s a little tilted, and I’m not sure how stable it is. You can definitely see that it’s cracked at the bottom. The lipstick itself is very beautiful as far as color and on initial application it glides on smoothly and dries down transfer proof, which I do really like. It is messy tho. It gets all over the inside of the tube (probably because it’s crooked) and I think it’s something in the formula that’s making this cracking at the base happen. If you eat or drink you will need to touch up just the innermost parts of your lips, but unfortunately once this lipstick is set and dry, it’s not really the same when you try and reapply for touch ups. It will get cakey. You’re better off to just wipe it some, and reapply. Also, I wore it at home a few hours and ate with it. I’m not sure I would carry this lipstick with me anywhere. It’s entirely too fragile. It wears pretty well but 6 hours into my shift I had some bleeding at the outer corners of my lips that I had to wipe off. I expect this one will snap also, and I’m pretty much waiting on that to happen. I’ve only worn it twice. I wouldn’t purchase this again. I would be open to trying other products from this line, if it was something I really loved, but overall I’m pretty sour about it. It’s not the most expensive lipstick I won, but for the price… there are cheaper formulas that don’t break and look just as good. I’ve had bullets melt before but I’ve never had a bullet break.

Very orange but great packaging
